Private Practice Toolkit: Data + Dollars

Two overlapping circles labeled DATA and DOLLARS

Private practices are essential to this effort.

We need your data to build the evidence. And we need your financial support to turn that evidence into action.

One without the other isn't enough.

1. CONTRIBUTE YOUR DATA

To advocate effectively with CMS, we need national cost data that truly represents our profession.

Every type of practice matters.

Small and large. Rural and urban. Adult and pediatric. Solo practitioners and multi-location organizations.

Your confidential financial and operational information will be collected directly by an independent CPA and analyzed in aggregate. Individual practice information will not be publicly identified.

Your data matters. Help us build the evidence to advocate for change.

2. DONATE TO FUND THE WORK

Data alone won't get this done.

Collecting the numbers is only the beginning.

The data has to be professionally analyzed. It has to be translated into credible economic evidence.

We need experienced healthcare policy consultants, advocacy and lobbying support, and the resources to get that evidence in front of the people making decisions about the value of our services.

That takes funding.

We are asking private practice owners to contribute their data and invest financially in this effort.

This is bigger than protecting one practice's reimbursement. We're building evidence that can strengthen advocacy for SLP services nationally and support the sustainability of the profession we have all invested so much in building.

Give us your data. Then help us put it to work.

3. Planning to comment to CMS?

We're moving quickly, but we're also being strategic.

Wait for the data.

Participating practices will receive the analyzed national findings and professional advocacy guidance before the comment deadline so you can make your comment as effective as possible.

Practices that contribute data to the SPEAK Project National Cost Survey will receive the aggregated findings and analysis to help support their individual comments to CMS.

We're also working with experienced healthcare policy professionals to develop guidance and resources to help our community understand the data and use it effectively and strategically in the CMS comment process.

The goal isn't simply to submit more comments. It's to submit stronger comments backed by evidence.

Contribute your data now. Then wait for the data and advocacy resources before submitting your CMS comment.

Resources and analyzed data will be released to participating practices around September 10th before the CMS comment deadline.

4. USE YOUR CONNECTIONS - Who do you know?

Do you have a relationship with a legislator... getting the evidence into the right hands matters just as much as collecting it. And if you're willing to make an introduction, even better.
